 Ava is 11!! She is the best daughter who we love so stinkin' much! She is growing up so fast and is responsible and amazing! Here are some memorable things that happened in the last 6 months. 

*She completed Level 4 in swimming lessons and has loved learning how to do all the different swimming strokes, especially when Dad helps her

*She has started getting a few pimples, but she is still really into her skincare routine and taking care of her face and skin

*She learned how to swallow pills

*She started 5th grade with Mrs. Bu and Sparks

*She is excelling at Chinese 

*She isn't a big hugger, but will recognize when I need one and give me the best hug. She will also let me give her hugs a lot more and will hug me back

*She is a very good at giving compliments, but is also very blunt sometimes. I have had to talk to her about phrasing things in better ways so it doesn't come off so offensively and to focus on what she likes about something, instead of what she doesn't, especially with Atticus

*She is a lot like the White side of the family; very independent, she says what she needs to, a bit messy, very creative, not super touchy feely. She looks the most like a White to me as well

*She is a big helper, but she s"mothers" up to Gavin and down to Atticus sometimes. I have to remind her that I've got it and will let her know when I need her help or input

*She got a Troomi phone and has loved calling and texting her friends, especially Maci Roy and sending Gavin GIF's and emojis

*Maci called and asked Ava what she was doing. Ava said, "Eating cheese"

*She loves the 90's and 00's trend atheistic. Her favorite pants are a pair of baggy khaki cargos. She loves baggy-ish pants

*She likes listening to The Saints on the church app

*She sang in the stake youth choir with Gavin and Atticus

*She wears a size 3 in shoes, youth large shirts, and size 12-14 bottoms

*She participated in the Young Doctors program at Rocky Vista University and loved it

*She gets to do The Point videos at school and help with the special needs PE class once a moth

*She has been hit or miss with math (probably because she is going too fast)

*She is starting to fit into some of my clothes, especially my older, small clothes I have saved over time

*She is super good at Chinese and scored high on the APPL test

*She likes the names Theo an Hannah

*She participated in her last primary program and was one of the narrators (10-22-23)

*She got her 2nd HPV vaccine (11-22-23) 

*Katie and Scott invited some Chinese friends to Thanksgiving and they said she spoke the best Chinese and were so happy to talk to the kids

*She ripped out 2 more premolars

*She was able to help with shoe coverings a few times for the St George Temple open house

*We were all able to go attend the rededication of the St George temple on December 10, 2023 by Elder Holland in the morning and then put on shoe coverings for the afternoon session

*She told me that she doesn't believe in Santa and knew last year but played along

*She is super excited to start YW in January. She will come up with her friend Megan Erickson. Ava is going to be the youngest girl in YW

*She is growing a little bit, but I feel like she is right on the verge of a growth spurt in the next little bit

Atticus is 8!!!

8 whole years old and going to be baptized!? I can't believe that our baby is getting so big! He is the best, silliest, sourest boy there is and we love him so much! 

*He told me he knows the tooth fairy isn't real because someone told him at school 

*He has a crush on a girl named Milyn

*He got lice from school and gave it to mom. Luckily we caught it quickly and it didn't spread since he plays really hands-on with his friends and siblings

*He lost his left upper incisor (01-17-23)

*He says "empiker" instead of emperor

*I showed him Friday by Rebecca Black as a fun, Friday song and reminds me each Friday that we need to listen to it as we drive to school

*He started to put his shirts on backwards again. He is always trying to do things really fast

*We went to Minnesota over Spring Break to visit Grandpa and Grandma White on their mission. We went to the Mall of America, the Spam Museum, and ate some really good food

*He got his first library card (03-15-23)

*He and Ava fight all the time, but then are the best of friends

*His favorite church songs are Did You Think to Pray? and America, the Beautiful. He likes to listen to church music when he can't fall asleep and likes to start with the patriotic songs

*He told me that his friend Benson Bess and him talk to their non-member friend Corbin about church and coming to church and their baptisms all the time. They offered to bring him a Book of Mormon, but his mom said no

*He stills says "mackenroni" for macaroni

*He likes to pick things, especially the dried milk from the rim of the gallon of milk

*He loves sleeping in a sleeping bag and sleep so well

*He loves naan bread and will eat so much of it

*When we were hiking in Bryce, he and Ava were hanging back, complaining. He told Ava that they were finally getting along because they were both experiencing something they both hate

*He got his baptism photos done on 06-02-23 by Karly Kleiner. She did great, but it was sad that Grandma White couldn't do them for us

*He told me he wants to work in the temple like me 

*He did karate at the St George Rec Center for a month and liked it, but we couldn't continue because of scheduling conflicts 

*He says "aspposed to" instead of supposed to

*He is constantly doing The Griddy

*He is feeling more confident with his swimming and likes to go off the diving board and down waterslides

*He caught 2 fish while fishing with dad at Sand Hollow

*He started biting our toes randomly for a little while

*He had a late night watching Harry Potter with Maci and Jessie McGee's family and he kept falling asleep. He was super ornery the next day. He doesn't do late nights well and needs his sleep

It has been a pleasure to watch Ava grown another year. Her curiosity and drive amaze me. She is the best daughter I could have asked for!

*She talked all the way from St George to Fishlake, nonstop about BTS, Korea, Kpop, and Asia and Asian culture

*She started 4th grade with Mrs. Reeder and Xu

*She said her greatest fear is a duplicate /clone of herself because they'd know your every move

*She can do a cootie catcher with one hand

*She went to her first concert on September 10, 2022 in Las Vegas (Kings Elliot, Macklemore, and Imagine Dragons)

*She doesn't like M&M's (only peanut butter)

*She says counculator instead of calculator 

*She has a crush on Jacob Westbrook, not Ike anymore. She says Ike has gotten annoying

*She loves to watercolor

*She started to grow her nails out

*She tried out of a solo in choir and didn't get the part. They usually give them to 5th graders so she wasn't too concerned but I was proud of her for trying her best and the moving on

*She says "You're so confusing" instead of your so embarrassing when I embarrass her

*We asked her to take smaller bites at dinner and she said, "Taking small bites isn't fun" and Atticus said, "Eating shouldn't be fun"

*I walked in on her bent over the toilet thinking she was throwing up but she was actually secretly cutting her bangs and flushing the evidence

*She lost her lower right canine on November 25, 2022

*She iceskated like a pro on November 26, 2022

*She is missing an adult molar on the bottom left side 

*She started wearing braces on her wrists and hands to sleep to help her stop sucking her thumb so she doesn't have to get an anti-thumbsucking device 

*She had a birthday party with lots of kids where they did art and played Left, Right, Center

Gavin is 12!!!

 

12 years old?! It doesn't seem like enough time has passed to have a 12 year old. It's been bittersweet watching Gavin grow up. Time is definitely flying by!

*He started 6th grade at Lave Ridge on August 11, 2022. His principal is Stake President Jensen, so they call him Mr. President Jensen. His math teacher, Dottie Brereton is also in our ward

*He rides the bus to school and had a new friend move into the neighborhood. His name is Zac Rodeback and they have hit it off so well. They are both doing percussion and are both great boys

*He wears size 6.5 shoes, XL youth shirts or adult XS shirts, and size 14-16 pants and shorts

*He has been loving having Zac around and they play Nerf wars in the neighborhood often as well as Battlefront and Minecraft on the computer and Nintendo

*Colby finally told him about Santa because he was putting the pieces together August 21, 2022

*He had an ear infection August 26, 2022 that he took antibiotics for. We found out he isn't allergic to Amoxicillin anymore and learned how to swallow big pills

*He went to his first concert Sept 10, 2022 (Kings Elliot, Macklemore, and Imagine Dragons) in Las Vegas

*He tested postive for COVID September 15, 2022 but cleared his fever within 24 hours

*He doesn't like to be called Bud

*He had his birthday party at Fiesta Fun with Zac Rodeback, Henry Ames, Dylan Anderson, and Kade Devlin

Atticus is 7!!!

7 years with Atticus has been a blast! He is a ball of energy and weirdness that we absolutely love! It has been a joy having him in our home that past year.

*He is a speed demon on Rollerblades

*He is in CTR 6 with  Joseph and Aleia Seamons

*He started wearing a bow tie to church and sometimes to school

*He sits alone at recess sometimes when he wants to and thinks about good memories, math, and things he's confused about. He said his favorite is to play with friends, then sit on the bench, and then his least favorite is to play on the playground

*He got his COVID vaccine

*He loves Zelda: Breath of the Wild

*He had his glasses broken at school when I friend bumped into him while playing wall ball. He has a few scratches on the side of his head from his glasses. We got his glasses fixed and then he crashed on his scooter and we had to replace them again with 2 weeks

*He has started to play wall ball at recess

*He is super shy at Lets Play Music

*He cried when I heart attacked his door  for Valentine's Day because he was excited that I called him funny because that is something he has been working on. He made sure that he heart attacked my mirror later that day to say thank you

*He says rememberized for memorized

*He called a ribeye a ribeyeball

*He says elien for alien

*He is on level K for reading

*He told Colby to feel his scrotum because it "feels different and special"

*He is Mr. Play by Play

*He thought church should be short because it was fast Sunday and was upset it was the regular time

*He lost his 5th tooth (bottom left lateral incisor) on May 5, 2022

*He uses lots of potty words like poop, poo, pee, jerk, jerk head

*He wants to eat a frog so bad but won't the food we make

*He is a slick pickpocket and gets my phone from my pocket without me knowing a lot

*He is growing his hair out long like Uncle Connor's

*He finished 1st grade

*He lost his 6th tooth (right lateral incisor) June 11, 2022

*He relearned how to tie his shoes June 11, 2022

*He sometimes pees in the shower when he doesn't want to walk all the way to the toilet. He also has horrible aim and usually doesn't life the toilet seat. He has had to clean the bathroom many times

*He says horeble for horrible

*He lost his 6th tooth (right later incisor) on June 11, 2022

*He had his birthday party at The Grip

*He swam at the City Pool and had Costa Vida for his birthday with our family. He got $25 from Grandma and Grandpa White, a cute musical card from Pete and card and $7, a pocket knife and Mario Strikers Battle League from Mom and Dad

We are ecstatic to have been able to spend another year with our amazing girl! It has been a great one! Ava has been growing and learning so much! She never ceases to amaze us! 

*She really wants an axolotl

*She still bickers and debates with Atticus constantly 

*He loves to be another mommy to her brothers, for better or worse

*Uncle Matt always says, "Ava's such a cool girl!"

*She told me that she likes to wear whatever she wants and doesn't care too much about how she looks. She thinks it's weird that girls are late to school because they took too long to get ready for school

*She went on a weekend 12 mile backpacking trip with Colby to Ashdown Gorge July 16-17th, 2021. She did amazingly well and was starving when they finished. Colby told her she could get anything she wanted and she chose Costa Vida. He asked if they just wanted their own burritos or to split one and get queso and she immediately chose queso

*She is becoming such a confident swimmer and has leaned to roll on her back when she gets tired

*She loves watching lighting/rainstorms

*She loves anime and BTS

*She believes that if she looks into people's eyes when she poops (like she did when she was little) that it really helps her go

*She had an ear infection behind her left ear, near her ear piercing that might need plastic surgery. Luckily the antibiotics seemed to help. She only has 1 piercing now while it heals

*She has been playing with Draper Eves and Everlie Openshaw for hours a day

*She backpacked into Coyote Gulch with Colby and Gavin on August 7-8th, 2021

*She started 3rd grade with Mrs. Marchant and Ding

*She got a rapid COVID test on 08-20-21 after potential exposure at school and was negative

*She participated in Girls on the Run

*She started wearing a training bra. She loves sleeping in it and underwear at night

*She drew an amazing picture of Christ on the cross at church September 27th, 2021

*She really wants to learn Korean as well as continuing learning Mandarin 

*She is worried about wasting her Magical Decade so she is trying lots of new things (girls on the run, storytellers club where she recited the book "Same, but Different Too")

*She started sneakily sucking her thumb again

*She loves watching baking shows

*She has been playing clapping games at recess

*She went to the Grand Canyon/Tuweep for the first time on November 27, 2021

*She doesn't love hotdogs or eggs

Gavin is 11!!

 

11 whole years with Gavin has been a dream! It has been amazing to watch him grow into such an amazing young man!

*He had his 2nd HPV vaccine and did great again 04-19-21

*He moved into his room in the basement 05-01-21

*He love Sprite and Fanta but doesn't like hot chocolate. He also doesn't like yogurt, beans, mashed potatoes, or milk

*He finished 4th grade with Mrs. Xu and Ruiz

*He went to Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming for the first time when we went to Yellowstone May 23-31st, 2021

*He says pacific for specific 

*He spent a week in Tropic with Grandma and Grandpa White and Jackson. He learned how to drive the four-wheeler and helped out a lot

*He is becoming a really good, confident swimmer. He likes to swim underwater and go off the diving board.

*He has a silly sense of humor

*He doesn't love to exercise and puts up a fight when I have them walk around the neighborhood. When he does run he is a really fast runner

*He could send hours a day on electronics and building with Legos

*He got two red-eared slider turtles named Tank and Godzilla for an early birthday present that he paid half for

*He loves to cook ramen al dente and loves to cook it for others

*He is starting to eat spicy foods

*He started growing his hair out but cut it short a few months later

*He is wearing size 7 shoes and size 14-16 clothes and large or XL youth shirts

*He is always up to dance and make silly faces and noises with me

*He loves to listen to podcasts and audiobooks

*Pesters Ava and Atticus and sometimes forgets how big he is and accidently hurts them

*He loves watching the Line Upon Line vidoes that go along with Come, Follow Me

*He made a pixel art of Mabel from Gravity Falls on the computer

*He lost his 16th tooth (left upper canine) on 07-24-21

*He loves trying to scare people

*He backpacked overnight with Dad and Ava in Coyote Gulch 08-07-21

*He started 5th grade with Mrs. Spark and Bu 

*He does homework at recess with Henry and Dylan so he doesn't have to do it at home

*He met Kade Devlin (our neighbor) and hit it off right away on 09-02-21. He told me if felt like he met his twin

*He is starting to get a few zits

*He does a slow clap when he think I'm funny but doesn't want me to know he actually thinks I'm funny

*He can roll his stomach

*He said he likes the number 69 because you can switch it around and it's the same number while we were at the cabin. Matt, Taylor, and Colby couldn't keep a straight face

Atticus is 6!!!

Atticus is 6! It's been such a good year with our crazy, funny, sweet boy and we couldn't want for anything more!

*He runs his entire recess time at school

*He still a tantrum thrower (running around wildly and kicking his legs and throwing his arms everywhere) when he gets told no, especially when it pertains to electronics 

*He is the princess and the pea with shoes, like his mom because he has wide, tall feet and he likes room to move his toes

*He drew a picture of Gavin on the top bunk with a happy face and him on the bottom bunk with a sad face when they switched beds 01-14-21

*He likes Cheetos Puffs dipped in ketchup

*He tried scrambled eggs and liked them! 

*He is very snuggly and lovey to me He gives lots of kisses and hugs and says he loves me. 

*He talks in a different voice when he gets excited that is really hard to understand

*He comes out almost every night and says, "Is my eye (or some other body part) ok?" 

*He has started screaming and scratching things when he is upset

*He got mad and kicked me int he shin and ran away one day

*He lost his 2nd tooth (bottom right central incisor) on 02-12-21, He was super scared for me to pull it but after I did he said, "That didn't hurt that much"

*He says, "Do you want the good news or the cute news? Baby penguins are going to hatch!" while we were watching a show about penguins on Disney+

*He can do the monkeybars

*He said he like the way the "G" word sounds but knows it's not ok to say it as a swear word

*He hates his food being touched by anyone

*He loves all parts of school

*He said, "I like Sax and phone. Ya. Saxaphone"

*While eating a crepe, he saw two blueberries near wach other and said, "Mom, look! These look like one of your private parts"

*He fell asleep on me at church for the first time in a long time 03-14-21

*He is messy and hates cleaning

*He really loves granola bars and will eat at least 2-3 at a time. He also really loves cereal, oranges from the orange man in Santa Clara, Little Caesars cheese pizza and breadsticks, and marshmallows

*He could play Nintendo and watch YouTube all day long. He will pee his pants sometimes because he doesn't want to stop what he is doing

*He runs away from us when he is in trouble 

*He is obsessed with spanking butts and winds up and hits hard when he does

*He still jumps all over the couch

*He loves reading books over and over again

*He is on a reading level D (where kindergarteners should be at the end of the year)

*He has amazing test scores

*He is so used to his mask that he usually wears it until I remind him that he can take it off

*He could eat candy and snacks all day long

*He had 4 small cavities

*He calls Peeps "Meeps"

*He spanked Dad and said, "You're skin's so wobbly" or "Wobbly skin!" while putting his hand on your stomach and moving it around

*He likes to watch aumsum.com to learn facts

*He loves pandas

*He is super good on drives and loves to look out the windows

*He got glasses and needs to wear an eye patch at home on his right eye so that his left eye can catch up with his right eye. His brain is only relying on his right eye right now since that is a 4 line difference in his vision in each eye 04-16-21

*He slept in his own room upstairs after Gavin and Ava moved downstairs 05-02-21

*He asks me to sing him a church song before I leave his room each night

*He stepped on a bee and get stung for the first time while walking on the grass and came into the house running around like crazy 05-07-21

*He is taller than Ava 05-21-21

*He told me that Henly Hickman and Drew Olsen were his crushes. Henly wants him to be her boyfriend, but he doesn't want to tell her yes because he doesn't want to have to marry her

*He likes sour cream and onion chips, hot chocolate, and scrambled eggs. He will not eat mashed potatoes, meat, veggies

*When dad teases him and gets him in a leg lock, he will run away to him room because he thinks he's actually going to die

*He finished kindergarten

*He went to Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming for the first time when we went to Yellowstone from May 23-31st, 2021

*He called Old Faithful "Old Nelson"

*He kept calling out "Wildlife!" anytime he saw any type of animal in Yellowstone

*He told me, "You're basically a grandma"

*He likes lots of milk in his cereal 

*He learned how to pump on a swing and jump off

*He really likes to watch Unspeakable on YouTube

*He likes to annoy Ava by singing "Oh, Hi" and "Baby Shark"

*He rode in a boat and tubed for the first time with the Manwarings

*He started putting his face in the water at swimming lessons and has started to really try to swim. He will jump off the edge and go under and do waterslides (with a life jacket)

*He had his 6th birthday party at Sand Hollow Aquatic Center

Ava is 8!!!

8 whole years with this sweet, amazing girl! She always exceeds our wildest expectations and accomplishes the goals she sets for herself. She is sweet, kind, funny, and creative and makes our world a better place!

*Katrine Baker is her piano teacher and she is learning a recital song called Tambourine

*Mrs. Hatch and Miss He are her 2nd grade teachers. They luckily can go to school but have to wear masks. A lot of  school districts across the nation and world are closed

*Size 1 shoes and size 8 shirts and size 7-8 pants and shorts

*Loves enchantimals and that's all she wants for Christmas

*Sophie is starting to listen to her more and is excited when she comes around

*She is very complimentary to me but can also be very blunt (not meaning to be mean or anything)

*She stopped sucking her thumb in September 2020 and got a panda enchantimal set as a reward

*She loves to sing her Chinese songs

*She loves being with friends and having playdates

*She gave Atticus feedback on his drawing from school. She said she gave him a few things he can fix and a lot of things he did well

*She likes to mix patterns or dress monochromatically

*She loves the book Jackie Ha-Ha by James Patterson

*She almost has her first recital song Tambourine down and is starting to memorize it

*She is doing well in math but needs some help with spelling

*Likes to poop with the Ipad in hand

*She brought a whole tub of jalapeno cream cheese for lunch with some wheat thins. She has always been awesome about bring leftovers and eating home lunch

*Her favorite colors are blue, orange, green, and red

*She was a ninja for Halloween

*She loves Heath bars, Ring Pops, Lemonheads, Nerds, Rolos, Whoppers, and Werther's (hard and soft caramels)

*She started wanting her fingernails painted

*She doesn't really like pink, purple, or things that are too sparkly

*She grinds her teeth and snores when she sleeps

*She is reading at a level M and is getting much better at reading out loud

*She loves Golden Grahams cereal

*She still loves to dress up for every occasion

*She is getting very excited about her upcoming baptism and is ready as ever!

Gavin is 10!!!

Gavin is in the double digits!! He is growing so much and is almost as tall as me! His feet are just about as big as mine. He is kind and loving and such a great kid!

*He started sleeping in just underwear which has freed him to feeling like he can just hang out in his underwear all day. He attended a google meet with his class (during COVID) in his underwear wrapped in a blanket

*He says "tentically" instead of technically

*He lost his 10th tooth (lower right lateral incisor)

*He still solo rappels but is having extreme reactions of fear and anxiety. We pushed him too far, too fast with canyoneering

*He loves to play with Samantha when she's over and always says, "well, it was the only thing to do" so that it could seem like it was the last resort, not something he initiated

*He hates the smell of vanilla greek yogurt, pirates booty (white cheddar puffs), and dog food

*He went with Grandma and Grandpa White to Tropic a few days early and helped them out a lot

*He has been saying "That's so sketch" or "That's hardcore"

*He tries to sneak around on the floor to scare us

*He complains like an old man sometimes

*His favorite canyon is Diana's Throne

*He wears size 6 shoes and size 10/12 pants and shorts and size L youth shirts

*He likes to hang out with the adults at Sunday dinners

*He has been super clingy and following us around when he's bored

*Mrs. Ruiz and Xu are his 4th grade teachers. They started August 13th and get to go to in person school but have to wear masks. We are lucky!

*He loves to make snack trays and loves to snack on chips, chocolate chips, and bread with ham

*He started bridges for Lets Play Music with Miss Macee

*He loves to play the Nintendo Switch (Splatoon 2 is his favorite), and Minecraft, and Roblox

*He has been having a harder time falling asleep and staying asleep

*He doesn't love PE or exercise in general

*He loves library and computers (but not the new librarian Mrs. Ross)

*He hangs out with Henry and Dylan at school

*He has such a good singing voice but doesn't usually sing during sacrament meeting. He will belt it out in the shower though

*He has good pitch and can hit most notes accurately

*He had no cavities at the dentist

*He loves when he can sit in the front seat on carpool days

*He is is as tall as my shoulders

*He was at Home Depot with Colby and noticed male and female couplings. He asked why they named them that and Colby explained that you put the male part in the female part and Gavin said, "No! No! Why did they have to do that!" Birds and bees 2.0 happened at Home Depot

*He likes to eat toasted bread with ham on top

*He fits better into size 12 or 14 shorts and pants

*He does well in English and science but scored a 73% on his first math test them 80% on the next

Atticus is 5!!!

Atticus boy is 5!!! He is such a fun, goofy boy who makes our life so much fun! He is so excited to go to school in a few months. He is such a grown up little boy! We are so happy he's ours!

*He says "there were too many cooks in the kitchen" when wants to get out of cleaning something so he can make us think there are too many people helping

*He started getting really angry and throwing some major fits 

*He told me that his toys was a girl because it had cute eyes. I asked if boys didn't have cute eyes and he said, "yes"

*He calls werewolves "werewoofs"

*He calls the game of perfection "too many hands in the kitchen"

*He said, "Is this real life" when were hiking Checkerboard Mesa in Zion because he said it felt like a dream

*He talked grandma's ear off when they went on an errand together

*When he was pooping he told me, "When I lean forward far and make a creepy face the poops come out"

*He is in a licking phase and licks random things and us

*He can plug his nose with his upper lip and touch his nose with his tongue

*He can turn his tongue from side to side and also roll his tongue

*He calls Nintendo "Nintento"

*He loves to play Super Mario Odyssey and watch YouTube videos about it

*He loves reading the Book of Mormon at night and reminds me to read it to him if I forget

*He loves puzzles (he and Ava did a 100 piece and a 300 piece during our extended COVID-19 Spring Break that turned into our summer break)

*He loves to snuggle in the mornings 

*He still has a small speech delay. When he gets excited he talks loud, fast, and in a high pitch so it's hard to understand him

*He is still afraid of the garage, the basement, lizards, and Crazy Frog

*He asks almost daily how many "monfs" until his birthday

*He is a major pantry raider

*He threw dry horse poop at Gavin and chasing him with it on a hike

*He told the other kids that girls put a plunger up their vaginas to feed the babies (He has previously asked about how babies eat and I had told him about the umbilical cord and then a few days later he saw me put my menstrual cup in. He thought I put it in my bum so I explained that it was in my vagina and some basic info on periods and this is what he came up with)

*He likes grapefruit but not the juice

*He calls mosquitoes "busgeetos"

*When you go to spank his bum he'll put his hands there so you hit them and say, "Thanks for the high 5!"

*He calls brain freeze "freeze brain"

*His favorite food is cinnamon sugar toast

*When we were watching online videos from his teacher Miss Kamie, he said, "I've had enough of Miss Kamie"

*As he was running around the house acting like a monkey he kept reaching around to his bum and making pooping sounds and throwing "poop" while screeching like a monkey

*He hiked the Red Mountain and he talked my ear off the whole way. We were working on s blend sounds and he was mastering them

*He loves his angler fish toy he got at the Book Fair and sleeps with it at night, especially when he's nervous and scared

*He asks a lot of questions about the gospel and Jesus and how things work, like sin and why Jesus died for us

*He loves Dutchman's pink cookies

*When he doesn't like something or he doesn't want to eat it he says, "my taste buds have changed"

*He is getting more sassy and moody as time goes on, especially around 4-5 pm. He doesn't want to help with cleaning the house before bed and starts to play rough with Gavin and Ava but can't take any rough play back

*He had his drive-up preschool graduation on 05-18-20

*He loves to drive through Zion and Snow Canyon, or anywhere really, and just look our the windows

*He calls iguanas "ewguanas" and caterpillars "calapitters"

*He loves watching Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Pokemon, Big City Greens, Gravity Falls, and Piggy Tales

*He likes to watch Collins Key, Zach Scott (with the volume down since he curses), Super Mario Odyssey and Minecraft videos on YouTube

*Whenever he sees a deer crossing sign he yells, "deer cross!"

*He farts like a grown man and likes to point them at people

*He can tiptoe and reach the kitchen faucet

*He calls coins "coinies"

*He likes a lot of milk in his cereal

*He could survive off of yogurt (Yoplait and frozen Go-Gurts), cereal and milk, cinnamon toast, popsicles, peppermint balls, quesadillas, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, and ramen. He rarely ever eats or even tries meat

*He started sleeping in just underwear

*He gets really angry and stubborn when he is tired

*He bites and sucks on his inner forearm/elbow area and gives himself hickies 

*He will let his head go under the water when he jumps in a pool

*He says "shink" for think

*He started to pour his own drinks 

Ava is 7!!!

Little Miss Ava is 7! She is learning so much and is such a fun girl to be around! She is a big helper and loves to play and socialize. She is by far our most social child which we love so much!

*She randomly asked if anyone in the family had a glass eye

*She calls cattle guards "cow crosses"

*She had her first nightmare (at least that she's woken me up for) about pirates

*She likes to pretend she is a DJ named DJ Kitty but told me I could call her DJ

*She cried when we left Tropic after spending a week there

*She calls gravy "potato sauce"

*She has started to roll her r's

*She says "I can take it" when she doesn't want to watch, eat, or do something she doesn't love

*She lost her 3rd tooth (upper left front tooth) which the dentist pulled on 08-05-19. She said he did a sneak attack and wasn't happy about it until he gave her a sparkly tooth holder

*She is in 1st grade with Mrs. Lasater and Mrs. Sun for Chinese

*She woke up with a squeal on the first day of school and yelled, "It's school!!"

*She is going through a nightmare phase

*She doesn't love crunchy things on soft things, like the edges of bread and things like that

*She pulled her 4th tooth (upper right front) on 09-03-19

*She listened to the sacrament prayer and told me that she felt the Holy Ghost in her heart

*She knows how to really pester her brothers and isn't afraid to hit every now and then

*She can be the queen of sass, stomping around with a major attitude but is also the kindest, sweetest girl ever

*She is as sensitive as her mom and cries during any sad movie or sad part of any book 

*If she is doing Lexia on the iPad she will try to cheat and have Siri spell the words for her

*She absolutely loves school, her teachers, and friends

*She passed off all of her 1st grade sight words before Halloween so she got to have a pizza party with Mrs. Lasater 

*Her hair is getting so long, almost to her bum and she cut it off to her shoulders on 12-07-19 as part of her birthday present from Dad and I (earrings are next)

*She really, really wants a baby sister and asks me about it all the time. I tell her to talk to her dad about that. When he tells her no she'll tell us that we need to adopt one

*She learned how to whistle

*She sneaks into our bed on Colby's side if she has a nightmare because she knows he won't wake up

*In size 6 clothes and 11-12 shoes

*She and Atticus (age 5) were the same height and almost the same weight at her 7 year checkup

Gavin is 9!!!

Our firstborn is halfway to 18!! He is almost as tall as him Mom and is such a fun kids to be around. He has a witty sense of humor that gets us laughing. We love our 9 year old!

*He says "geraniball" for "cannonball

*He says "donimo's" instead of "domino's" just like his dad

*He started choir before school Tuesday's and Thursday's and loves it, even though he put up a stink *-21on the first day

*He loves to rappel, especially when he can jump while coming down

*He loves the math game Prodigy which has helped him a lot with math

*He calls tampons "tampoons"

*He really like classical music, especially Ode to Joy

*He likes to relax to music

*He still loves creating with Lego and playing Minecraft

*He still loves reading nonfiction books

*He can be quite sassy and emotional when he is upset. He isn't super easy to calm down but will come out after he settles down and thinks things through and apologize and talk it through and give hugs

*He started chasing Atticus around for fun and teasing the kids relentessly like Colby does, especially at bed time or when we should be getting ready in the morning

*He has started to hang out with the adults more at gatherings instead of the kids unless Mason or Jackson is there or there is a TV on

*He loves the show Gravity Falls

*His favorite movie is Mr. Peabody and Sherman

*He doensn't like doing chores 

*Gets distracted easily, esppecially by something he can create or build with. We are working on time management and focusing on completing tasks fully

*He can't wait to eventually get a phone and is standing over our shoulder if we have ours out

*He loves recess and running around playing games he and his friends have made up

*he loves hanging out in the library and was excited he could start bringing 2 books home from the school library in addition to the books he brings home from the public library

*He is loved by everyone he meets- everyone stops me when they realize I'm his mom and make sure they let me know how highly they think of him

*He is very good at looking at something and drawing it, just like his dad. He is also a very good doodler

*He had his friend birthday party of the Washington Community Recreation Cetner

*He had me bring Little Debbie Cosmic brownies to school for his birthday and requested Chinese food and grasshopper pie for his Sunday birthday dinner

Atticus is 4!!!

4 whole years old?! Time has flow by. I feel like my little Atters has been a big boy forever, especially since you've grown like a weed since you were a baby. He is also smart for his age but I still can't wrap my head around the fact that he is growing so quickly! We love our AtterBoy!

*He asks a lot of questions about a lot of things like, "how do we poop? How do we pee? Why does..."

*He says, "Wait for it, wait for it"

*He says s sounds with a st sound instead, like stun for sun, stafe for safe and fp for f sounds, like fffpinger, fffpun, fffpur. He really accentuates the p sound he adds in

*I overhead him say, "Good morning, Aba!" I asked him if he says that every morning and he said yes

*He is going through a nightmare phases and will wake me up multiples times a night because he's so scared

*He likes to do puzzles with the top side facing him

*He found a group of boys his age at the park and started playing with them without prompting from me

*He got a Valentine from Drew Olsen up the street and was beyond thrilled to receive it from her. He said he loves her and colored a special heart on it

*He can spend hours coloring

*He is so stinkin' funny but he can flip a switch and become super angry

*He coughed and still had some stuff stuck in his throat. He told me it was a frog. I asked him what color the frog was and he said, "purple"

*He loves the chicken dance aka pigeon meme song aka Micheal Jackson's Billie Jean and will dance around like a pigeon when he hears it

*He went to Disneyland for the first time and met Mickey Mouse. When he heard the overhead announcement that dreams come true in Disneyland, he said "my dreams came true!" After we met Donald Duck he kept saying he met his "best friend Donald Duck"

*He loved the Mater ride, Casey Junior's Train, the Little Mermaid, and Nemo's Underwater Adventure

*He said he likes wedgies because they tickle his bum

*He calls warts "horts"

*He wanted a "hangyburger" for breakfast 

*As he was playing with my hair he said, "I want to make you handsome like me"

*He met another Atticus his age at a park and was so surprised to meet someone with his same name since it's so uncommon

*He thinks he is bigger than he is. He started walking home from Gpa and Gma A's, walking around the track, or running around the block without asking any one

*He couldn't get a hard booger out of his nose and told me it was made out of hot air balloons because it's hot inside

*He always wants to go to Tropic and Fishlake

*He is a great hiker and scrambler

*When he gets mad, sad, or hurt he will run around the house like a crazy person, screaming at the top of his lungs and kicking things

*He always wants Sophie to sleep in his room

*He runs from you when he doesn't want to do what you've asked him to do
