Fun at the Park

Ava was walking so well, especially since she's only been officially walking for less than 2 weeks, but she did take a few and I was able to capture one of them. She loves being so mobile! 

Gavin's Breathing Treatment

On Dec. 27th Gavin started having labored, quick breathing, even while sitting. I didn't feel comfortable with the way he was having to take big breaths every one in a while so I decided to take him into the after hours clinic at our pediatrician's office. Luckily I did. When the PA came in she looked at his pulse ox readings and lifted up his shirt to see if he had retractions, meaning the muscles between his ribs weren't allowing the lungs to fully expand, thus causing air to not be able to move in and out like it should. Amanda decided to do a breathing treatment  "with special air" in the office to see if it would clear up. It lessened with the treatment so she prescribed a nebulizer to use at home for as long as we needed. She said it could be caused by allergies or brochiolitis, or a combination of both. Over the next few days he was able to get weaned off the treatments and had little to no symptoms after the initial treatment. We're so lucky to have such a great access to modern medicine!

Ava was blowing kisses like crazy and was loving all the attention until we made Gavin come over. Then she lost it.
