August Odds and Ends

This month flew by and I feel like Gavin grew so much! He started to like to dress up, especially in my soft shirts and Colby's running shorts. I also got him to start wearing a cape and cowboy hat. He is still our little helper who loves to clean and come play at mom's work. He loves his fruits and is especially loving blueberries (hence the blueberry tooth picture).

 It's amazing to see how much of a personality he has and how handsome he continues to get!

19 Weeks and It's a Girl!

Our little wiggle worm is a girl! We got our "official" ultrasound on August 15, when we were 19 weeks. We had an idea from previous ultrasounds and my "motherly instincts" that she was a girl. Here we both are at 19 weeks. She was being an acrobat and would not keep her hands and feet from her face so we weren't able to get a good profile, but she's healthy and happy and moving like crazy! That means the world to us! We are extremely excited to meet our little Ava Camille! 

California!

We went on a quick trip to the Sunset/Huntington Beach area with my little brother Connor and niece Hope. We stopped the first day in Vegas to spend the night. As we were driving down we noticed Gavin's eye was red. It just kept getting worse and he started crying like crazy. He never does that so we knew something was up. We stopped at a Walgreens to get something to irrigate it. A giant green booger came out so we thought that was over with. We started driving more and he kept crying and we noticed more boogers. We decided it was time to go to the doctor. Luckily we were able to get in with Colby's sisters pediatrician. She told us he had a bad ear infection that spread to his eye. Luckily we were able to get some antibiotics and things started to clear up within the next few days. He had tons of fun playing with Jackson and his toys.  

After spending the night at Cori and Matt's we set off to California. Gavin was picking on the kids in the back so it was a battle for a bit. We stopped somewhere in California to get lunch. As we were eating I heard a little girl say "Mormons?" and the dad reply "Ya, straight ahead." I looked around and realized that they were talking about us. I have never been singled out as a Mormon... it was quite funny. After making it to our hotel we headed to the beach and that's where we spent most of our days. We also headed down to Huntington Beach and walked down main street and the pier at nights.

   

We had a great time and enjoyed the best pizza at The Firepit Pizza and tacos at Wahoo's. We had ice cream every night and soaked up as much sun we could. Colby had an encounter with a giant crab and a sting ray. Luckily he came away from both unhurt. The picture below demonstrates how we all felt on the drive home. 

 

Finnley Ryan

On August 6th Finnley Ryan was born! He was 6 lbs, 6 oz and born a whole month early! He only had to be observed one night and able to spend the rest of the their hospital stay in their room. He looks like a mini Abplanalp! My mom and Kylie were lucky enough to be able to go out and spend a week with them. Needless to say I'm still a bit jealous! I want to squish and kiss those little checks!
