Posers

It's been so fun to snap such cute shots of the kids. It's funny to look at some of them to see what we got. They have the best facial expressions!

Playing at the School

When the weather warmed up enough we were able to go spend a lot of time at the school. Gavin loves riding his bike so we'd pack Ava in the stroller and head out. He is big enough to play on almost all of the toys on the big kid side and he has mastered all of the toys on the little kid side.
This is how Gavin rides when he is tired of riding his bike. He keeps Ava entertained and happy too!

Gavin and Ava

Gavin and Ava have been smitten with each other lately. Gavin is so attentive to Ava and she loves having his undivided attention. I hope they stay as good of friends in the future as they are now! It is so much fun as a mom to watch them get along and love each other!

Breathe Easy 5k Weekend

On Friday night, April 19th, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa White's house to be with family and to help grandpa get the Razor ready for the race the next day. Gavin loved being out there and decided that Sadie needed a bath too. She was a great sport and let Gavin get her wet with the water shooter and rub her down with a cloth.

The next morning we had such a blast running the Breathe Easy 5k. It was sponsored by the Southwest Community Health Department, which Chris is the Deputy Director for. He asked us all if we would sign up and most of us did. It was my first 5k since high school, almost 9 years ago! The kids were pooped afterwards! I even came in second for my age group and we even started late.
After the race we were able to go home and take naps and then we headed over to grandma and grandpa's house for more fun. This was the first time that we were able to see baby Kate. She is so adorable! Ava loved looking at her and she also loved being with her other cousin Tyler. We are so lucky to have 3 babies less than 6 months apart. I hope they will all be good friends! Gavin loved having Mason and Jackson down too. We rarely saw them because they were playing outside for most of the time. They loved sitting on the little kids table to eat their food.
On Sunday we got all dressed up and went to Grandma and Grandpa White's for church. It was so much fun to get pictures of the little ones. Grandpa was in heaven holding all of them!

Colby's Drawings

I always forget how well Colby can draw until he actually has time to sit down and draw. I'm amazed every time!

Gavin is 2.5!

Our silly, energetic boy is 2.5! How in the world did that happen? He has grown up so much!
He can count to 10, but always skips 6
He plays pretend now and was a snake last night
He uses normal things as toys... like an apple rocketship
He loves the temple and calls every church and pretty building one
He loves to building temple sandcastles in the dirt with a chess piece as the steeple
He was given a pop up Spiderman tent for Christmas and sleeps in it every night, whether it is on the floor or his bed
He has to take a billion stuffed animals, books, and blankets for bed and he will not let us leave without getting him a glass of water
He gives the best kisses and puckers up from a mile away
He signs the piece sign for "I Love You" and says "I luh you"
He became afraid of the dark in March because of a Curious George episode about going into a cave, so he won't sleep without the light on. A night-light is not good enough. We sneak in after he is asleep and turn it off.
He wakes up between 4:45 and 7am, but usually around 5 or 5:30am
He goes to bed around 8, but usually plays until he finally lays down around 9
He still takes a nap
He still eats really well and hasn't had too many days of eating like a bird like most 2 year olds
He still loves fruit and veggies and will eat them first no matter what. He is loving grapes, blueberries and carrots right now. He also loves eggs and anything you can put ketchup on
His best friend Ryder Gardner lives next door
He is a nudist at heart and can't go outside without removing an article of clothing each time. If water is involved his diaper is off before we know it
He is madly in love with Ava and attentive to her. Whenever she cries he tells me that she needs her binky
He will poop and pee on the toilet sometimes, but usually will go outside or in a closet to poop
He has started to sing and dance to songs, and will let us sometimes too
He loves the Isty-Bisty Spider
He can recognize heart, circle, square, star shapes
He loves giving raspberries on any skin surface he can get his lips on
He likes to be in the bath when Ava is in her "boat" (baby bathtub)
He has been able to sit and build towers, color, or do puzzles for long periods of time
He is a wizz at our smart phones
He can ride his Strider bike like a pro and always wears his helmet
He loves his big kid nursery and is the wild one of the bunch
He is obsessed with helicopters, airplanes, rockets, big trucks and anything boy
He gets mad when he is embarrassed and it's the only time he will try to hit
He got his first 2 stitches in April. He had to be sedated because he is such a fighter. He has made a name for himself in the ER
He loves to be a big boy and play with the big kids
He loves Blue Clues, Dora, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
We are so lucky to be his parents at such a fun stage!

Gavin's Stitches

On April 8th, as I was reaching over to grab Gavin to get his pants on to go the grocery store, he slipped and hit his lip on a plastic block. As he stood up I noticed quite a bit of blood coming from a cut. I thought it would be fine if I just stopped the bleeding. The cut was under an inch long and stopped bleeding pretty quickly but every time Gavin would talk it would open really wide. I was nervous about it getting infected with how close it was to his mouth. I took him to the pediatricians and they wouldn't do stitches because he needed to be sedated because he's such a fighter. They sent us to the ER. Gavin got pretty angry with us, especially when they put in the IV. He burst the some capillaries around his eyes, like he does when he is fighting the dentist. I know it hurt him, but I think he was the most mad about not being able to finish watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and being papoosed in the blanket that was holding him still. After he was sedated he got 2 stitches, but he was still pretty angry, even sedated. It took him a over 30 minutes to come to and then we were able to go home. Luckily my mom was able to come and help me with Ava because she decided to be really fussy, which she never usually is. Colby was in Cedar for school and wasn't able to be there to help. Luckily it went pretty quickly and I'm so thankful that I have an awesome family! We were able to get the stitches out 5 days later. I guess he made quick an impression for being a fighter the first time he was there because they remembered him and rallied the troops. He still has a little scar, but it has healed really well.
He really wanted a picture with the helicopter blanket and he is in a stage of not looking at the camera so we were able to get some pretty sweet pictures!

Watching Alexis in Sunset Express

This was one of Alexis' last ever performances with Sunset Express. She has been in it since she was in 1st grade. It has been so fun to watch her over the years develop such a goofy, fun personality. She has the best voice and dance moves! We love you Lex!
