We spent New Year's weekend in Las Vegas with Colby's sister Cori and her family. We got down to Vegas a little later than we anticipated, but Gavin was all for playing in Jackson's Cozy Coupe. It was cute because as each day passed Jackson and Gavin started warming up to each other more and more. By the end they were talking to each other during dinner and running around together instead of ignoring one another.

Our New Year's Eve was spent at the house, away from the craziness of the Strip and all the traffic. It was great! I love low-key holidays and this one was perfect. We didn't stay up for the actual holiday because we knew we'd be up early with Gavin.

Gavin jumped in the car every morning and played to his hearts content. I think we might just have to invest in one of these!

We went to Bass Pro Shop and looked at the fish. Gavin loved it! He would laugh every time this gigantic fish would swim by and do the sign for fish. I thought he might be scared of it because it was so big, but he could have stayed there all day!

On our last night in town Cori and Matt watched Gavin for us so we could have a night away. We walked through Caesar's Palace and ate at an amazing Italian restaurant called Trevi. I think this is the first "fancy" restaurant we have ever eaten at. It was well worth the money! I'd go back tomorrow if I could. After that we went and watched the water show at the Bellagio. I started missing Gavin like crazy, and I admit that I broke down a bit. It's crazy how much your children wrap around your heart. I felt like I was missing a piece of myself. I pulled myself together and we had an enjoyable time together, but I was glad to get back to my little boy!
