April Odds and Ends

Splash Pad Fun

On April 28th Kara and Landon, and Matt, Cori, and Jackson were all in St. George. We decided that we wanted to let the boys ride the carousel and play in the splash pad on Main Street. Jackson loved the carousel, but Gavin was freaked out the whole time. Gavin loved the water, but Jackson didn't as much. It's funny to see how different they. After we played we all came to our house to clean up the boys to get ready to eat. It was a quick weekend, but it was a lot of fun! I'm glad that Jackson and Gavin are close in age so that they can always have the other to play with!

On April 30th we went to the splash pad again with my family for FHE. We had tons of fun in the water and playing Frisbee on the lawn. We didn't dare try to the carousel again though. Maybe next time!

FHE at the Temple

For FHE one week we decided that we wanted to take Gavin to the temple visitors center to watch the movie, The Stonecutter. It was great and not too long so Gavin was able to enjoy it as well. He loved seeing the Chritus statue and especially playing outside.

The Kite Festival

On April 21st Kylie, Gavin, and I went to the Kite Festival. I was a little bummed out when we got there to see that it was mainly for older kids, but we ended up having fun anyway. A snow cone, pinwheel, and a tractor ride made it all worthwhile!

Gavin- 1 1/2 Years Old!

We have a one and half year old?! How did this happen? Gavin has been growing and developing so quickly. He is such a goofy boy!

Head: 19.5"- 91%!!! (from 54% at 12 months)
Umm, yeah, he has a big noggin! Luckily I didn't have to deal with that earlier in life ;)

*He loves the movies Tangled, Up, Cars, and Curious George
*He laughs at movies or funny things that happen
*He squints his eyes on purpose when a light turns on or when he sees the sun
*He loves to climb and is very daring
*He loves to sleep with his giraffe and grabs it from bed every morning when he gets up
*He's a Momma's Boy
*He loves nursery and could care less that we aren't there
*He only drinks water (he started to refuse milk at 13 months)
*He loves loves loves mac and cheese and pork and beans
*He loves fruits and yogurt
*He sleeps in crazy positions
*He loves to be outside exploring
*He loves slides
*He loves to play with rakes, brooms and anything else that is not a toy
*He points at everything
*He can say dad, mom, shoes, cheese, this, these
*He can sign fish, cat, horse, bird, squirrel, snake, food/eat, water, finished, more, banana, brush teeth, clean, baby, rain, dad, grass, car, airplane, flower, soap, wash hands, cracker, milk
*He is forward facing in his car seat and loves it!

We're so grateful for such a wonderful, curious, smart little boy!

Easter 2012

Easter this year was a little different than most. I went to Hyrum with Gavin, my mom and little brothers while Colby stayed home to work all weekend. My dad was also working in Oklahoma so we decided to surprise my grandma. It was a great weekend filled with great food, company and lots and lots of animals. Gavin was in heaven! The Easter bunny found us up there and also left a basket for us at home.
