Words

Has something that someone has said made you feel like less of a person? I had this happen to me today when a woman, who should be kind and compassionate, laid into me for one mistake that I made while I have bent over backward for her everyday except this one instance. I hate to be disrespected and yelled at like I'm a child and it makes me angry. I know we are told to not feel anger towards people, but this happens to be one of my downfalls. I am going to try to make a resolve that I am not going to let things people say, not matter who they are or how much older they are than me, get to me. I need to be a stronger person to be a better example to Colby and Gavin, and to be a happier person. I have honestly been stewing about this dumb conversation for over an hour now and I feel worse about it now than when it happened. Please, if you see me stewing, try to talk me out of it... I believe I might be in need of some sort of intervention to get my head and heart in the right place.

We're having a...

I had another ultrasound on 04-10-10 and found out that we are having a little...

BOY!!!
(This could possibly change, but the parts that were seen on the 10 1/2 week ultrasound were still there on this 12 1/2 week ultrasound so we are pretty confident about it, but we will keep on checking to make sure)

Little Gavin Joel is growing very well and is as healthy as can be. It was so crazy because when we said our prayers that night we were able to pray with a specific name picked out, not just our little one or our baby. Knowing that he is a boy and seeing his body form in front of us makes everything so real to us. We love you already Gavin and are so very excited you chose to come to our family!

Colby was able to be there with me for this ultrasound and loved every minute of it. Gavin wasn't moving around very much this time, just stretching out and relaxing, so we were able to get a very good look at his heart beating and it's chambers and his brain structures. When I saw his heart beating I thought I was going to die... it was amazing! We tried to get a good profile picture but his hand seems to always be by his face. We were only able to get him to move it for a few seconds and then his hand was right back by his face.

I am still not feeling sick, but strong smells have been making me dry heave since I hit about 12 weeks. I felt terrible the other day because Colby slaved away and cooked carna asada for dinner and I couldn't even go into the kitchen. I had to have him open all of the doors and turn on the fan to aerate the place and serve me dinner in the living room. It's been an adjustment, but I am so thankful pregnancy has been so enjoyable for me so far.

Colby and I have finally started to buy things for this little guy. We got this stroller and car seat

and this crib bedding with the walls painted either light blue or yellow... I can't decide.
Pregnancy is an amazing experience I am am so extremely thankful we can be parents to this little boy. He's already gotten a tight hold on our hearts and we can't wait to meet him!

Easter

We had an enjoyable Easter Sunday by celebrating at our house with our loved ones. It's been interesting the last few years because we have had to start making a lot of our own traditions because my grandparents were on their mission last year and they were at a mission reunion this year. It's sad, but it's also great because we are becoming a little more creative and independent. It's been a great few months, three to be exact, to know that next time around when we celebrate these holidays we will have a new addition to the Abplanalp family and two new additions to the White family. It's been the most exciting few months of my life! Below are a few three month belly pictures... we definitely need some practice, but here they are in all of their glory.. don't mock :)

Finally showing!! I have been waiting for this for some reason and I can't wait to get very large. I find it very beautiful and womanly on other women... I hope I can pull it off as well!
